Written for the Unknown Soldiers Past, Present, and Future… American Indian Wars, Black Men Were There… Spanish American War, Black Men Were There… Border War, World War I & II, Black Men were There… So many wars have passed, are in the making ,and Black Soldiers are still not fully recognized for their Contributions, for their Sacrifices and willingness to fight for a Country that openly and silently treated them as 3/5 a Man…
The history books are filled with missing stories, filled with stolen identity stories, of the heroics and the fierceness of Black soldiers in battle… Whichever side the Black Soldiers fought on they were fierce… Fighting for a Cause and Purpose came easy for them… Buffalo Soldiers, 9th and 10th Calvary, Fighting 54th, and all the other Colored Units, made their Presence felt on every battlefield… Made the enemies and those who had enslaved them see, their natural fighting abilities, their determination to get the job done… Made them leery at home and abroad because the Black Soldiers were fighting machines, who was needed to help secure a victory… Behind Closed Doors and far away from the battlefield many praised your tenacity, your abilities, to adapt to the harshest situations on a battlefield… Deserving Medals were kept from many Black Soldiers because of their Color… Deserving Raises in Ranks, in Pay and Respect , was held back too… Today we Honor the Graves and the Soldiers who are still living among us, the ones we don’t see, and the ones that True Honor and Credit Never Came to… From Civil war, to the Vietnam War and the Current Wars, Our Soldiers whether on Land, Air or Sea, Deserve to be Honored for more than One Day… |
