The Heart Knows

The heart knows its true mate…

It reacts with joy in every beat whenever the two of you meet…

Separated through the many Changes of Time, Unknown to each other in the flesh until the reunion of spirits takes place and merges the soul…

The heart knows its true mate…

The excitement gives it away, the rapid beats and the heat, gives it away…

It knows so it glows… It makes you sweat and music can be heard inside your chest…

Music that soothes the heart, moves the heart into tranquility and serenity…

When you find the Missing Link, the Missing Rib, the One who sets Fire to your Soul, the Heart will let you know and All Others have to Go…

First Class Heroes

This poem is for all those men and women, who fought for, died for, got wounded for: their country, their communities, their families…

Fly the flags high this day…Have a parade to honor those whose blood saturate the soil so that freedom can become a reality in places where anarchy rules…

In places where the people are the constant victims of murder and abuse, of pestilence and wars that dominate their life daily…

Our soldier’s brave men and women putting their lives on the line, dodging bullets and land mines, on alert all the time…

Let us take more than just a moment to honor them, more than just a day, to let them know that we who are home under the comforts of our homes, respect you and pay tribute for your protection.

Forgotten

They were called Colored Troops and they served in the Union Army, Navy, with determination, with Guts and with a Spirit that was Unyielding and Ferocious in the Battlefield…

Ran from the Plantations, ran from the Lynch Mobs, and came battered, tattered because they heard the first call of freedom in their soul…

This is for the forgotten men who fought for this country, died by the thousands for this country in THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR…

They enlisted with threat of death from former Slave Owners, from the Owners of Fear who cower at the thought of trained Negroes with guns…

They enlisted because they knew that freedom was at stake and they were tired of fighting Jim Crow, Willie Lynch, and all those laws that regulated their humanity…

Forgotten in the medal department for bravery and heroic deeds because they were the products of scorned Black Seeds…

Admiration

You have been battle tested…

No one believed that YOU would be standing after the Storms in your life had cleared…

No one wept with you, No one reached over and wiped the tears that often found themselves flowing down those Understanding  Eyes…

When everyone close to you seems as if they were Losing Faith, YOU stood firm.

Family doubted you, some friends did too, none of this stopped you…

I am One of your Admirers who has seen you Rise from your Own Ashes.
seen you pick-up the Scattered Pieces of your Life and Restore them.

I Admire the Fire that Grows and Glows Inside and Outside of You…
YOU have been like a Tree who refuses to wither during a Storm.

This one is for YOU….

Thank you for not giving up on the children who fought you when you tried to push them, who resisted your advice only to find out that you were right…

Thank you for showing them and truthfully telling them, what is waiting for them, once they leave this environment…

Your honesty, your assessments of what they need to succeed has helped many of them who would have become street causalities…

More than they know you have been operating from the heart from the start…

Grandmothers

Out of love from someone who honors and loves their Grandmother the flower of these words are for her ears that may not hear so well, her eyes which may not see so well, and her mind which may not remember so well.

Love seeks to honor her while she is still here in the flesh…

Love seeks to remind the others of the family tree about the treasure that they have in their Grandmother.

Remind them so that they start taking more time for her…
Start bringing the children over more to love her and not put more strain on her…
